Luke nodded and reached over to hug me. His chin rested on my shoulder as he held me in a firm embrace and began to speak. “You know, what the guys were saying downstairs is true. I think you should go for it, Ryan. Ivan is a good man, and you were right when you said that Fenris wouldn't have put you guys in each other's path if you weren't ready for the next step in your life.”

I sighed softly against his ear. “I know. It's just scary. And all this talking shit is just multiplied times a thousand with him! And even when he isn't talking, like today when he was in bear form while I babysat? His eyes still expressed volumes. I've never had anyone totally interested in me like this before, it's kinda weird.”

Luke released me and sat back with a dry chuckle. “Yeah, it's really intense when you meet your fated-mate. And not to freak you out, but when you claim each other, you'll be able to somewhat read each other's minds and know what each other is feeling. It gives a whole new meaning to open communication, let me tell you!”

I bit my lip and looked off vacantly as I mulled that over. It didn't freak me out like he'd probably thought it would. The idea that Ivan would honestly be able to completely know me and read my feelings made me feel warm all over. All I'd ever wanted was for someone to truly know me. This mating thing sounded better and better.

I gave my brother another hug and stood up. “Are we good now? Can we go have dinner? Because like I said, I have a date tonight. But, I'd like it if you guys stayed and have dinner with the pack. I miss seeing you at the table. “

“Yeah, how's that gonna work now that the pack has doubled?” Luke asked as he stood up and started sniffing the air.

“Oh, Kai organized it so that meal times are assigned now. We all drew from a hat last night for our official meal times. Except breakfast. That's an open buffet. And he left space in the different seatings in case we have visitors or some of you come up from your cabins.” I was heading for the door, and opened it as I spoke.

“Wow, Kai is really good at that shit, isn't he?” Luke stopped and bent back over my bed. I froze, my face turning bright red as I realized what he'd been sniffing. He turned back to me with a grossed-out look on his face and said: “Really, Ryan? You jerked off in your bed and then let me sit on your dried splooge? That's just nasty.”

I'd honestly forgotten all about it. My blush turned into nervous giggles that quickly morphed into hardcore, side splitting laughs as Luke glared and pushed past me indignantly. I followed him downstairs, laughing the whole way.
